i presume you are now watching the political situation in thailand

The following is report from AJ Tanet Charoenmuang krub.  Something to cheer about---  More to come krub.

dear all my friends:
the rally of around 200 vehicles or more of the reds from bangkok left bkk at 6 am on sept 18 to come up to chiangmai and arrived in chiangmai last night at 10 pm, amidst the very strong cheers of support from 2,000 reds in chiangmai.
the reason the rally came so late was that they were stopped and warmly welcomed by every district they passed along the way.  it was thus impossible to just stop and sip a glass of cold water and say thank you in solidarity and then leave those smiling faces.
so so many stops and greetings and some discussion and snacks at every stop made them arrive in jiangmai so late.
today, 4 years after the coup, the darkest moment in modern thai history, and 4 years after the rajprasong intersection massacre, the most brutal and barbaric killings in thai history.  the reds gather here in chiangmai beginning this morning, the biggest gathering of the reds since may 19,
why chiangmai, well, because the emergency law does not allow Northeast areas nor bangkok areas to hold any big gathering.  so here they are going up the mountains to chiangmai.  the emergency law was lifted in chiangmai around 2 weeks ago because of the pressure from local hotels and foreign agencies and governments which have suffered the lowest tourist season in the past decade.

see you all this afternoon at the chiangmai municipal stadium where 20,000 reds are expected to gather, and they will together fly 30,000 red balloons to go up the sky and ask the sky who killed the reds on april 10, and may 19.
